Went to a few Fotofusion 07 seminars at Palm Beach Photographic Center today. The morning was all talk with some portrait hotshots who do brilliant work. The afternoon was a macro trip to butterfly world with outdoor shooter Rick Sammon. Rick is a very personable guy who really loves to help. I've never done the macro thing before, so I went armed with the new D200 and a Sigma 50mm/2.8 macro that I borrowed. I ordered the new Tokina 100 mm macro/2.8, but wasn't able to pick it up until after the seminar. The butterfly shot was at ISO 400, f11 and 1/60 with auto fill flash supplied by the hand held SB800 on a cord with the diffuser. The second shot is my little one lit by her Nintendo DS screen and the overhead fan lights. ISO 1250, f3.2 and 1/10. Excuse the slight blur from the hand held shot. I really love this new toy and can't wait to wring out the new 100mm.
