    my intro

Since i havce already received help in these forums I figured it would be polite to introduce myself since i just got into the world of dslr and photography in general.
Below you will see me with the reason i got into dslr. I simply wanted to capture my daughter's youth the best i possibly could (in pictures at least) and after a couple of years of frustration with P+S camera, i decided to make the jump. Now my wife and I are thrilled and I am hooked badly.
Dont mind my uneducated ramblings and questions, but know that i am quick learner.

Hi Ronin and you've got a cute daughter and taking pics of my kids a long time ago with my film camera got me into more than point and shoot. Now I have grandkids to shoot.

Really cool shot. I really like both her and your expressions here. It may not be sharp enough but if you could crop in around your two's faces it would be awesome,

    Ronin,

I'm so glad you introduced yourself here - now we know to whom we are "speaking!" You have a beautiful daughter! She looks like her Daddy! A lot!

This is the best place to share the "snapshots" and/or other photos of your family and other subjects where you aren't necessarily looking for a critique (although it comes with the territory on all the forums here sometimes).

Welcome to the PR community. It won't take you long to learn the XSi - looks like you're doing pretty good already. At any rate, learning or not, photography is fun all along the way.

I hope you have a good weekend and some nice weather - here in NJ it's supposed to rain all weekend.

    Enjoy!

    Liz

I blame the lack of sharpness on my wife, this was her first time using the camera and she had no idea what she was doing. Then again, neither do I. Still, i'm happy with it.

Welcome and Congrats on the new camera.

I have the older version of your camera, XTi and the same 50 mm lens.

A lot of great people here to learn from.

From the picture, do you live in the Chicago area? I live right across the Indiana border and make it up to the Chicago every few weeks. With the warmer weather coming up I hope to make it up there more often.
