    Must Reads?

    Ya got any?

I've got a cabinet full of books, photography and business, but one of my favorites so far is one called "you, inc. The art of selling yourself" Don't have it handy, so I'm not sure who the author is, but it's really good. A lot of it you'd think is common sense, but some of it was quite eyeopening.

I've also got " the new manual of photography" by John Hedgecoe, which I'd like to at least crack, since I paid for it.

I've got more...but the cabinet is behind the Christmas tree, so I'm not sure off the top of my head which are my favorites...
    I sleep, but I don't rest.

"The Digital Photography Book" by Scott Kelby. This is a great book with straight to the point information. He is coming out with "The Digital Photography Book II" and I will pick that one up also.

The John Hedgecoe book is my bible.

On order from Amazon right now I have Understanding Exposure by: Bryan Peterson and Langford's Starting Photography.

I'm dying to get Understanding Exposure and found Langford's book in my wish list so I bought it. I don't remember why I wanted that book but I know there must have been a reason. I think I may have read about it here?
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

If you like "Understanding Exposure", you might want to check out "Creative Exposure Control" by Les Meehan

I'll go check it out. Amazon still hasn't shipped my order so I may be able to add it. Thanks Aaron!

    Re: Must Reads?

Just got a great book that I thought I would recommend...

"Pictures Under Discussion" by John Loengard

It shows 85 of his shots and he discusses the stories behind them. Very cool read so far

    Re: Must Reads?

If you are an ADOBE Lightroom user,

" The ADOBE PHOTOSHOP LIGHTROOM Book, The Complete Guide for Photographers " by Martin Evening from ADOBE Press is a must read/have. www.adobepress.com & www.peachpit.com

It is not just a 'how-to' manual like most the rest of the books and publications. It was the released to coincide with Lightroom 1.0 in 2007, and even with updates and new features it still is a valuable resource to getting to the root of the philosophy of how to use Lightroom in one or more coherent methods. Instead of using someone else's workflow, you can see more about the thinking that went in to many parts of it without having to read all the online forums and boards.

    Finally sat down with,

"TUSCANY Inside the Light" by Joel Meyerowitz and Maggie Barret. This is a landscape and scenic book of photography of, Tuscany.

    Non-photographic-

The tear jerker of the year book for all ages is

"Rescuing Sprite" by Mark R. Levin. If you are dog lover this is a great read and well written.

There's another book that appeared over the holidays that I blogged about if you care to visit Expensive Debris (link below)
