    More woodworking projects

I finished the guitar stand for a friend a little late for Christmas She loved it anyway. I'm teaching her to play, so it seemed like a natural gift. It was harder to do than it probably looks

The leaf was a design from a book. I scrolled 2 at the same time (by taping 2 pieces of pine together) and the brother is painted white - per request. I can easily see the man in the leaf. Can you?

More belated Christmas gifts in the works...

What a great gift to have Rick! I know a few people up here who have the same sort of talent, but wow, what a great way to use it and apply it to an idea rather then just using it as art. I love the feather too, very neat!

Nice work, Rick. I oughta have you make a stand for my accoustic and electric!

The leaf is pretty neat too, and yes I can see the man. I sure wish I had the tools for woodworking. I'd be making all sorts of stuff.

Thanks for sharing with us your other talent!

    Very nice gift Rick!

Hey! This time you found a man in the wood. How cool! Did you notice the face in the scroll from the book, or afterward when you cut the pieces?

    Re: More woodworking projects

    Hey folks, thanks!

Thanks, Jared! I like putting my skills to practical use, and Christmas seemed like a great time to do it. I love wood working - but I LOVE having people to make things for.

Ray - thanks! I sent you about 13 PM's today, take a look. If I may offer some woodworking advice: my scroll saw (which made the figures from my last post and the leaf in this one) cost me only $75 on sale. It's a Craftsman. It's safe, easy to use, not too loud, and makes really pretty things. If you had to start with something, I'd start with that. All the leaf took was that saw and some sand paper. Same with the gifts in the other post. I'd love to see you got into it!

Lara - thank you! I found the pattern as-is in the book, adapted it a little to make it easier but that's how it was! I ask only because someone I showed it to couldn't find the man's face. So I wondered how noticeable it was.

    Thanks again all!

OMG Paul, I said "leaf" this whole time I was doing that as I was making it, too. Good god I am getting old. Thanks for catching that. And shame on everyone else for not saying anything
