    Wink More Astrophotography Fun

Having fun with my K1000. I took this shot on a whim one night.

It's a familiar constellation. Can you tell what it is?

    K1000, 50mm lens, Superia Xtra 400, 30 minute exposure.

Must be Betelgeuse making the brighter white streak on the upper left and Rigal making the reddish one one the lower right.

Out of this for everyone else! :-)

You are correct, that is Orion the Hunter.

You were also the one who correctly guessed my first Photo-Jeapordy question. You are a wealth of information on a variety of subjects!

Though one minor point: Beteleuse is the bright red one and Rigel is the bright white one. :-)

Well, I goofed and didn't pay enough attention to his sword and belt. I guess I've never thought of him standing on his head before. :-)

I'll butt out from now on - I didn't get that $1000 prize from the first one yet anyways. :-)

Out navigating by the stars again? :-O

Can you see enough stars to navigate by in NJ? :-O

Actually, I missed a turn coming out of the woods one evening, and wasn't sure where I was. Night time lows were getting down around 40, and I didn't have a flashlight or a lighter with me. The prospect of spending a cold, dark night in the woods was NOT appealing. BUT, when the moon rose over the trees, I got my bearings and walked right out! :-)
