    Memorial Day Weather?

Crazy weather here for Memorial Day. I think we had snow down to about 5000 feet. No mountain bike rides for me and Jenni this weekend. In fact, we could have skied fresh pow if we'd wanted to. Yesterday we ended up driving a lap around Salt Lake City, looking for wildflowers because she's getting her bridal photos done tomorrow. Unfortunately, with the cold, wet weather, very few wildflowers have made an appearance yet. Still, it made for a fun day of exploration and I had a new camera to play with - the Panasonic Lumix ZS10 pocket superzoom. It's got a truly remarkable 16x zoom lens - super fun to play with. And it fits in my pocket. Love it!

Hot and dry here in Rome, global warming is in full force. My asthma is killing me.

    Stormy Panoramic

Here's a stormy panoramic photo I took at about midday. Note the spots of snow on the ground in the trees. This was stitched in Photoshop from three ZS10 images. You can see a larger version here, in the gallery: http://gallery.photographyreview.com...0&ppuser=75191

    Symptomatic

Today I read that this is the wettest spring on record for Utah since the 1800s. All that snow and then rain, rain, rain this spring.

    Re: Memorial Day Weather?

John! That weather better be getting better before too long, we are heading out to camp in Flaming Gorge (right by Dutch John) come June 10th.

The weather here was nice yesterday! High of 88, we went out in the middle of nowhere and blew up dry ice bombs, and mixed diet coke and mentos. It was great pointless fun. Great weather

John, Ill trade you. Houston has not had measurable rain since January. That along with temps. in the mid 90s made it not as fun as it could have been to say the least

Oh, I'm not really complaining. I lived in California long enough that I really appreciate the interesting weather here. It sure is a lot better for photos that dead, gray and perfect blue skies. I just wish we could get the mountain biking season started. Everything is too muddy right now. But it is fun to be able to take pictures with super green foregrounds and snowy mountains in the background
