    Looking for some monitor/colorspace help

Sorry about posting this in general, the hardware forum seems to get no traffic and the only reply I've seen in 3 weeks is from a spammer. Hoping someone can take a look at this and give me some ideas http://forums.photographyreview.com/photo-printers-drives-computers-other-hardware/looking-new-monitor-83405.html I know I've read colorspace discussions around here before but in context of editing. I'm just kinda lost on what I need for a new monitor.

I have the Dell U2410 which was the predecessor to the U2412 and I have been very happy with it. The 2412 reviews I have looked at say it is not up to the 2410 standard. I would look for a good deal on the 2413 or even look for a 2410.

BTW - The color space does not give you that kind of increase in colors - maybe 10% at the most. It's the 12 bit processor that gives the additional colors. However, I'm not sure that the LCD can actually display 12 bits of color.

Thanks. Do you think it's worth it for me to get a monitor with the larger colorspace in my situation? I'm not printing anything right now, and if I did it would just be sent off to a printer who's probably using sRGB anyway. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if there's any benefit while editing to have it. If I'm not really going to benefit I'll probably save a little $$$ and just go for the 2412M. I still kinda curious about those LG models I mentioned in the other thread though. I suppose anything is an improvement over the cheap Samsung TN panel I have now.
