Live Steam ( or Model Trains on Steroids )

There is place not far ( about 2 miles ) from my house that is a Live steam Club, and every year they have an open house with people from all over the North east bring there engines and every body is welcome. we we have made this a yearly event of going over and making a day of it , the kids love it , and every year the wife says we need to buy an Engine.

any Way here are some of the Pics I took Tons !

a Nice B&M 4-8- 4 this one is running on real Coal and Steam

this one is electric , has 4 car batteries powering it . today was its Maiden Run ( still needs finishing touches )

this one has a 5 HP Briggs and Straton Engine in it

the rail Gauge is 7 1/2 inches on these

They also had an elevated track that Was 5 inch gauge ( I think )

an above shot os the smaller gauge

    Same Engine from the side

a vertical Boiler ( vs the normal Horizontal )

And this is Edward , yes the kids informed us no that was not Thomas!! ( and they are right Thomas is an 0-4-0 and tender 1 this is a 4-4-0 with tender #2 )

and in the privous picture Edward had a Cow catcher on , well that caught one of the crossing rails and derailed ( and tore the cow catcher off )

    Full Steam ahead !

From a Montreal Club a Canadian National

this Baby was a Beast! a Narrow gauge proto type ! so it was Big!

    and it had Pulling power!

and fianlly the Mickey Mouse train

    Good Family Fun!
Feel free to edit my Pics to show me how to make them Better.

If you don't build your own live steam model you will have sticker sock!

This photo is the real thing. The winery had an old Iron meet of old trackers. This gentleman is releasing the steam presser so they can change the safety value as it was acting funny.

It doesn't mater if it is a full size or model, a good scale model is just as costly or more so than the real thing.
