This Little Pig went to Market

We have trade day here in Rome on Wednesdays. I think this is where this guy was heading.

Small town America...You got to love it! This one reminds me of my town on a Saturday morning. Saturday is sales day at the stockyards and they come in from everywhere. I've even seen a baby calf being transported in the back seat of a car. Ah small town America I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Nice catch on this one Greg.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

A comment and a question. (Comment) I cannot remember the last time I saw a truck in such interesting (??) condition :blush2: .

(Question) For those of us who don't know, could you explain trade day . Thanks.

    Cheers,

Re: This Little Pig went to Market

Once a week people set up things to sell out on tables. Fresh produce, yard sale items and yes cows, chickens and pigs. You can almost find anything at trade day.

Talking Re: This Little Pig went to Market

Thanks Greg. We have similar days here, but no animals, just fruits, vegetables and various meats including seafood, elk, bison and ostrich. We call them Farmer's Markets, because that what it is...local growers come and bring there produce, vegetables and such and you can go and buy from them directly. Some are indoors and some are outdoors where they sell there goods under large tents. Outdoor ones are only summer time (for obvious climatic reasons - snows after October and gets freezing cold )...indoor ones are generally year-round. Just a great place to go for the really fresh stuff, because it is all seasonal - peaches are in now - yummy, yummy.

    Cheers,

    WesternGuy
