    Lightning

    Hi guys and gals.

We had a nice lightning storm in my neck of the woods last night and I managed to get a couple pics.

What I tried to do was use my bulb exposure setting with a remote release because it's so difficult to know when lightning will strike.

Problem is that I live in the city so when I do long exposures the clouds glow from the lights. Not a big deal, I know you can adjust that sort of thing in Lightroom or PS. So I just wanted you guys to see the RAW images, and then what I did in lightroom.

If you'd like to readjust them I am fine with that. I dont want a Lightroom lesson or anything but I would like to see what someone who knows what they are doing could do with these, then I have something to shoot for.

    Thanks

I kinda prefer the originals. I live in the city too, but find that a 4-6 sec exposure will do the trick. I'm fortunate to have an intervalometer built in to my camera, so all I have to do is set it and forget it. It looks like we both have the issue of the roof getting in the way.

    Re: Lightning

Cool lightning shots! I also like trying to capture it. I don't have an intervalometer in my camera so I just set up and do a series of 10-15 second exposures toward where I think the next bolt will be. On my last outing I took around 50 exposures and got a couple I liked:
