    Levitation

While driving around in the bitter cold last weekend I saw this ice where the where the fieldpond had drained out from below it. I've never seen anything quite like it before in a lifetime of Wisconsin cold. The ice was about an inch thick.

    Chunk,

These are all nice......excellent photos. Snow is sometimes difficult to capture without looking blue. These turned out great. The first one is beautiful - but I couldn't decide which I liked best, the first or the last. Both excellent - both different.

Oh btw, did you take these with your FZ20?

Yes. Handheld- zoomed in - with my normal shake and a 10 degree fahrenheit shiver as well. IS really helps me.

Here's an unzoomed capture of the scene.

I can send a few fresh from camera pictures by email if you want for evaluation.

Those are really neat images Chunk. I have never seen anything like that before either. I guess I can't say that anymore.

Very interesting, never seen anything like that myself. It's been a very wierd winter, weather-wise at least!

Wow - zoomed in. That's a nice lens! Very sharp. I'll send you an email about the pictures. Thanks!

Thanks, Nat. Hope he enjoyed them. I'm happy with the shots but I think I realized as I was shooting them that the feeling in the photos wasn't going to match the feeling of wonder that I felt at the scene.
