Okay, more like a temporary reprieve. Liz sent me a "Are You Still Alive?" e-mail, so I figured I would just stop in and say hi. I've been crazy busy at work lately, and actually just got back from back-to-back conferences - flew from NY to San Diego, from San Diego to Orlando and then finally back to NY.
The San Diego conference had an incredible keynote speaker - James Lovell, Commander of the Apollo 13 mission, so that was really freaking cool. I haven't had much time for photography, although I did manage to make it to the San Diego Zoo while I was out there. I also went to the Museum of Photographic Arts which was exhibiting Steve McCurry and Graham Flint's Gigapixel Project - those images are absolutely amazing in person. My Tokina 28-70 broke while I was out there, so that was thrilling (aperture is stuck).
Anyway, tomorrow morning I leave for Cape Cod. My grandmother turns 90 this year, so the entire family is going out there to celebrate - and there're a lot of us - my mom's one of seven kids. Luckily a guy I work with loaned me his 24-70L so I can take pictures of all the drunk Irish folk (us).
I miss you guys. I was lured in by all of the interesting posts just in VF alone, but I need to get to bed - my sister is flying in from Georgia and I have to pick her up in Providence on the way to Cape Cod.
Hopefully I'll be back soon!
Danielle
