Largest camera ever launched into space

    From Astronomy.com.

The telescope can detect even the faintest of these winks, registering changes in brightness of only 20 parts per million. To achieve this resolution, Kepler will use the largest camera ever launched into space, a 95-megapixel array of charged couple devices, known as CCDs.

    Here's the whole article:

    It is very neat indeed!

We all know about the awesome images the Hubble has sent back. This camera is bigger than the one on the Hubble!

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan

    Oh I hope not!

Fortunately, it will be pointed in the other direction. But rest assured, there are plenty of lenses pointed at us from space...
