    Lake Tahoe

I squeezed in a late-season, pre-launch Tahoe trip, last weekend. I was hoping for some dramatic weather for photos and I wasn't disappointed. We did a ride on Saturday that would usually take 4+ hours and in 6 hours we only did about a third of it. Part of that was due to my obsessive picture-taking. But we also ended hiking in snow when we should have been pedaling. Plus, I really suffer when I'm pedalling above 6000 feet. But I got some great photos and had a little adventure, and that's what's most important.

    A Very Different Day

Sunday was very different. Instead of riding we took the dog to the lake. And it was warm. Very strange. What a difference a day and 1000+ feet of altitude can make.

If you've never been - Lake Tahoe is magic. The second photo is someone's house. It must be worth millions. There are no houses anywhere near it and it has a private driveway with a huge gate.

    Monday

Sorry, no pictures from Monday. On Monday I woke up at 5:30 AM and "commuted" four hours to my office in San Mateo, about 20 minutes south of San Francisco. Back to the redesign project which you now see on this forum. It was a brutal drive. But I've gotta say it's great to be able to drive in to work from the mountains. Maybe I'll try living in Tahoe next summer

    Re: A Very Different Day

I lived 3 blocks from the lake on the CALI side when I was 6 ;)

Last time I was there(mid 90's) I climbed Mt Tallac in july and had a snowball fight with my mother in SHORTS ;)

I have a wonderful memory of the time my sweetie took me to Tahoe. I have pictures too but it was a grey day. The water was still beautiful though. Wonderful, wonderful day. Thanks for the memory trigger.

Good for you John. Glad the three of you had a nice time. Is that your dog? The photos are great and it's always nice to know you do get some time to yourself once in a while.
