That is such a nice photo! Great pet portrait. It's difficult to get a decent photo of a cat. I know from experience as I have two - Jeremy and Molly.

    Thanx Liz,
Darn right it's hard; if you look closely in his eyes you can see my sisters arm up dangling a string to get him to look up. I think I took 30 frames to get two or three good ones. Good thing digital film is cheap! Let's see some of your critters. Later,

I never meet a cat who didn't. You have captured a very good image of what I consider a very tough subject. I'm not a cat fan but my daughter is. This was taken on my last visit with her a couple of weeks ago. She liked it, but then it is her cat. Say hello to Lucy.

    Nice one O.T.!

Lucy looks a little bent out of shape about something. Taken with your D70? Lens? Lighting? I'm a dog person myself. Cats are not my favorite either....unless you're talking these guys....

Yeah that's my kind of cat. Lucy is always bent out of shape. I had her favorite chair and she was not at all happy about it. The image was taken with a D70 and the Nikkor kit lense, I used bounce fill off the ceiling and wall for the lighting.

Strange thing you've done with the lighting and pose.
You've lost Lucy's cat shape, with foreshortening maybe?.
Flattening her head to give an amazingly owl-like appearance.

Lucy looks a bit like our Loseley.
She's earned the name "witch" for good reason !
I haven't tried getting a photo of her for ages, but at 21 maybe I should try again before it's too late.

OT, that is one COOL LOOKING cat...

I don't think I've ever seen a cat that looks like that. IMO, very striking. Almost has an OWL face, eh?

    Molly and Jeremy

Here are my 2 - background isn't good. I never plan on shooting these two. I just have to capture what I can - and where they are! Molly is 1-1/2 years and Jeremy is almost one year old. Jeremy tends to "pose" when he sees the camera as you can see in shot # 2. Molly tries to avoid me.....and the camera.

    Re: Kitty Glam...

I never thought much about cats until I decided to get one to visit with our residents (in our residence for homeless women). However, Molly likes to hang out with me - so I got Jeremy as a companion to Molly because I'm out quite a bit. Good choice - they get along great. But neither are making friends with the residents - except from a distance.

    Lucy is a beautiful calico!
