    Jack and his Mom

Hey just taking an opportunity to show off the grandson. I posted a few right after he was born. He is now 9 weeks old and came to see Granddad this weekend. Here is the latest image of Jack and his Mom.

    Re: Jack and his Mom

Since they live 5 hours away we don't get to see them as often as we would like, but when we do the D70 get a real workout. It amazes me everytime we see him how much he has grown and progressed on the learning curve. This is our first so we are in awe of everything. Thanks guys for taking a look and commenting.

Yep that's his latest trick. We hadn't seen that before this past weekend. Why haven't we seen more of your latest? The last you posted were great.

I don't have recent photos. These are a couple of weeks ago. I didn't do so well this time, but here's a couple. Ethan is smiling now. I have a ton of photos my daughter has been sending. What a difference a couple of weeks makes at this stage!

Wonderful!! He has grown. Ethan and Jack are very close to the same age. It will be fun to compare photos especially thru this first year. I have been trying to get my daughter to email pictures, but no luck yet. She has a very nice Canon P&S (A75 I think) that should do the job. I think she is withholding pictures in the hopes that we will just give up and make the trip to Nashville.

    Thanks Larry.

Maybe your daughter does have a plan! Get Grandma and Grandpa to come visit.
I'll try to get some new photos myself soon.

    Lara!

What wonderful pictures! You did such a nice job here. I love the one with the two of them on the blanket and the mirror that gives us a glimpse of "Mom?"

    Beautiful baby! Keep posting.

    Thanks Liz.

Yes, that's my daughter. My hubby bought me a mono-pod which I haven't tried yet. I dislike the fact that the photos are not sharp. Here's another example of me and my camera shake! This is my daughter and Abbie.

    Larry, more photos please!!

Thanks Paul you are right about them taking after Joy. I do have a reputation to protect here on PR and must be very careful about the images that I post of myself. I don't want anyone to get the idea that I'm a pleasant fellow and might even smile sometimes.

Oh Lara, they are so very sweet. I love this photo - they're both looking at the camera.

No you don't get banished! You just have to make a promise that you will post something you took.

I'm waiting for you to tell me how that monopod works, and if it's easy to use, and how much difference it makes.

    Re: Lara

Liz, I haven't had great results with the monopod. But I haven't used it all that much. Maybe it takes some getting used to. I don't have steady hands, so it will probably help some. I have a feeling a tripod would be better. I want to find a light weight one. One of the advantages of the monopod is it telescopes to many different hights pretty quickly. I do get the feeling that I could drop it, but there is a safety strap which of course I always forget to put on!

    Re: Lara

Liz I have a mono pod that I use a lot. I use mine mostly with the 80-200 and for sports. However I fine it comes in very handy when I don't want to carry a heavy tripod and am doing closeups with the 105 macro. It gives me that extra bit of stablity that I have lost with the years.
