    an "interesting" drive

In various densities of snow, on cleared roads right until the end.
Managed a 180 degree spin at only 5mph, the unsalted roads are scary.
It's still falling, and I expect not to be able to get out tomorrow.

Good luck man. We are going to get a bit as well, but the worst thing about it is that it will keep the roads from clearing in my subdivision for another couple weeks. I really need to ride.

    Re: an "interesting" drive

Is snow rare in your part of UK?
We get some snow most every winter and there are lots of hills.
Some of us know how to drive in it and a bunch don't.

Those 180s can leave your stomach a bit on the queasy side, eh?

I lived through a couple of winters in Minnesota, I do recall the look of going into warp speed as driving into the snow , same as shown in your photos

    Good luck!

I was wondering this morning if you were stuck in Basingstoke - we have 40+ cm this morning on the patio table.

And its still snowing with heavy snow expected between 12 and 1500 hours.

And I thought not knowing how do drive in snow was a British disease.

I have to admit that I got a bit of a chuckle a few years ago when they showed a mess in Portland from snow. There was an suv sideways on the freeway trying to backup.
Only the rear wheels were spinning. I guess they didn't know that to use 4 wheel drive that had to put it in 4 wheel drive.
Seattle gets more than Portland most years but it is always bad up there. Makes me glad I live in the country.

The first snow this year we had a BUS slide down a hill sideways hitting cars on BOTH sides of the street!

Sad story that bus in Cornwall ...
Slid off the road, onto its side.
Police car responding slid off the road and nearly hit the underneath of the bus.
Other emergency vehicles had to stop a long way away and everything walked in along the icy road.
    Two fatalities.
