    I'm A Grandfather

No joke. Yes, I know I'm too young. But my son got married in January, and on Tuesday, his wife had a son. His name is Ryan Alex and Dawn is practically glowing over being a grandmother.

    Here are a few photo's.

    My son before the C-Section.
    Ryan.
My son, Ryan, and my daughter-in-law.
    The proud grandmother with Ryan.
    The reluctant grandfather with Ryan.

Thank you for the comments Liz. They named him Ryan.

We are going to see him again tomorrow, so there will be more photo's.

I only took 173 the day he was born! I'm still trying to go through them and process them. Ah, the joys of digital.

Thank you for the congrats. I'm finally settling in with the idea of being a grand-dad.

And congratulations to you on your third!

Welcome to the club Speed!!!! My third was born less than two weeks ago and I'm here to tell you there is nothing like it. I love being a grandparent and I know it's an experience that you are going to treasure as well. Keep those pictures coming and keep us up on Ryan's progress as he discovers what it's like to be a member of the human race with parents and grandparents that think he is the center of the universe.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Grandma already does!

I'm getting used to the idea, but I still say I'm too young!

Dude! That's awesome!! I have to laugh because we're pretty close in age and here you are a Grandpa and I'm just getting started with Gus!

Your son certainly looks calm in the first shot. Not to be nosey but was the c-section planned? I know I didn't look that calm when I was waiting!

I'm assuming, since you didn't say, that everyone is doing good and there were no problems. Little Ryan is certainly cute!

Look at Dawn beam! And it's obvious that you're pretty proud of the newest addition too. Only 173 shots? Too busy holding him or queing up for grandpa holding time to take photos? ;)

I, for one, am looking forward to seeing more photos.

Pass on my congratulations to your son and daughter-in-law. And to you and Dawn!

Yes it is. And you are a little TOO enthused my friend! ;-)

Yes, we are close in age. The difference is, you get woke up and have to change diapers. I don't. Hehehe. (Just kidding with you buddy!)

Yes, he was very relaxed. That's the "ignorance is bliss" look. And yes, it was a planned C-section.

My son is learning the hard way, that this is no longer playing house. When we ask him how he's doing, his answer is "Tired". To which I answer, "That's parenthood!"

    :-D

Ryan had to go under the lights for high billyreuben (sp?), but he's doing fine now. Mom and dad are also doing well, except for lack of sleep.

Dawn has been excited over the idea of being a grandparent for years. I'm not sure what's wrong with her! She's even more excited now that Ryan is here. That I understand.

    "Only 173 shots?"

Yes. I didn't see the point of going completely overboard.

    ;-)

I've already passed on your congratulations, and I forwarded your email to Dawn. She was very appreciative.

More photo's will follow. I'm pushing the 300 mark now. It's a lot quicker and easier to take the photo's than it is to process them.

    Now Paul.

    Really!

How do you know us that well?!!!

    :-D

We are taking entirely too much delight in hearing Rob's complaints about how tired he is, and how the baby eats, sleeps, and cries. Hehehe.

And we tell him, "Welcome to parenthood!"

    Thanks for the comments buddy!

Talking Naw, she's too young to be a grandmother

You are right! She was 15 when Rob was born. Poor girl wouldn't meet the true love of her life for another 8 years. But, when she married me, she loved my children as if they were her own. And she's as excited about being a grandmother as anyone could be.

Thank you for the comments my friend!

Congrats! Isn't it an awesome experience? My first grandbaby was born in Feb '05 and I was there. I had my little point and shoot in my pocket and as soon as that baby was out so was the camera! I got some great candid shots. My second grandbaby will be here in May. I keep telling people that Shawna is getting me a baby for Mother's day. They just look at me like I'm a crack pot!
