    If the snows come again...

We got our last good snowfall on New Years Day. The kids had two days to play before school started up.

We're having a heat wave with temps in the 40' and 50's. The lakes and ponds in my area should have 6" to 8" thick ice by now. Instead, I saw my first frog and wooly worm of the year today

    You call that snow??! :P

These are fun photos, Loupey. I especially like the one with the little girl running. I don't understand why she's running. But the look on her face and the somewhat random quality of the composition make it a funny and entertaining image.

Re: If the snows come again...

We're in the same heat wave here Loupey but it is looking like the cold is on it's way back in. We don't have any snow up here anymore either... and boy the homeless can't even build igloos now =P.

If it snows again (which the weather man is predicting it will at least 2 more times this winter...but hey... he's been known to be wrong..... I plan on getting some good sledding shots like yours also.

But bad with the good... the birding has been excellent since the hawks are all out an hunting the mice and moles that seem to think it is summer already lol.

Re: If the snows come again...

Photo-John - LOL! Yeah piddly looking hills, huh? I was disappointed too when I arrived late on day 2. It had actually accumulated pretty nicely on the lawns and fields but I guess the action scraped the hill down significantly. As you can see, we get pretty excited anyway - not too many hills in glacier country

Jaedon - thanks for looking. Sledding or birding images, either way I look forward to seeing your images

lol I love the story I conjure up when I look at the man sledding "over" the little boy. I'm assuming he's okay, or you wouldn't have posted the picture. It just strikes me as really funny in one of those "I shouldn't be laughing" ways.

I haven't seen any frogs or wolly worms yet, but I have seen some flying insects. Little black things that look kind of like masquitos.

I love how the big kids (read grownups) seem to be having as much if not more fun than the younger kids. Just for the record Loupey I hope all the snow stays up north with you this winter and we slide through without having to get out the snow shovels.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Re: If the snows come again...

Opus - Thanks for looking. No kids were hurt in the making of this series

mjs1973 - definitely a strange year. Just got back from driving from through Wisconsin's "tornado alley" and Indiana's flooded plains

Amber - hopefully things will get back to normal. I know some buds on some trees are showing a hint of blooming already.

OT - Yes those teenage kids were sledding in places and in ways that wouldn't be approved by the park rangers. A few hit some small trees - it's amazing how far moans can be heard on cold, crisp days

Here is the full sequence shot at 6.5 fps of the Canon 40D
