I wish my school photo's looked like this...

... when I was at school!!!

And it's funny y'know, I asked the twins if they would like me to be their school photographer, "YES!", they snapped
I haven't bought school photo's for AGES now!

    And just for good measure...
I can very rarely get a sensible picture out of Lisa so this is as good as it gets I'm afraid lol
She grabbed a table lamp and held it under her chin.

I don't mind really, this shows her true personality. They are both alot of fun, always together and ALWAYS giggling
    I love 'em to bits!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot! These were taken with my 40D and 50mm

Are you ready to post a review for your 40D yet? Or have you already?

Always love photos of the twins. You have the best of both worlds in these two. And yes I too wish that they could be a bit more creative with the school photos.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Alison, your portraits always amaze me. Please, if you haven't already, post a tutorial on how you do it, especially using only window light.

No, I haven't posted a tutorial but I did explain how to take one of my shots here in my blog.
Of course, it's a bird's eye view of where my kitchen windows are.
If you only have two windows you can easily use a lamp or your flash for the third source of light, I guess.

I'll see if one of my girls will model for me, so, you can see where my light source was for the first pic of Jenny

and here is a pic of my very elaborate and very expensive setup lol.

with the curtains drawn, being cream they make great diffusers. I was sitting on the right hand side of the desk (where the wooden chair is).
Jenny, as you can plainly see was in the black chair
It's all very technical y'know haha!

I can't let one of my daughters see this photo. I would be forced to repaint her room.

    Wow Alison,

Your portraits are always so natural looking, I imagine you spend a great deal of time doing portraits to make it look so easy!

I think I'll put my 50mm on and go shoot some photos of my son!
