    I normally like spiders....BUT

    can someone ID this nasty chunky brown spider there's one on the front porch and one on the back porch...ugh...

    the body with legs is about the size of a quarter....ugh

    excuse the crappy pic I was about 6 inches away with my face sorta under it and was sure I was going to get mauled...ugh

    Nat, I'm not sure what it is, but I think it is of the Orb Weaver family anyway. Leave it alone, they keep the insects down, unless it is in an area that is obstructing things for you.

    well considering both like to build their webs directly across the middle of the stairs


    I normally wouldn't kill anything off...unless it becomes a pain...spiders aren't lacking where i live...since we moved here a year ago...I have noticed about(if not more) 7 different varieties of spiders...

    what can you do? they were here first.....

    Move the spider to another position around the garden somewhere.

    Nat, this looks like an orb-web Garden Spider to me (araneus diadematus) they live in the garden and do not normally come into the house (if it is in the house just move it to the garden), its harmless so dont kill it. Garden spiders are abundant around August- October
