I just have to share this picture of my Twins!!!

My twin daughters had their hair cut today.
Of course I was there with camera in hand, but, only my little Sony Cybershot DSC-P10.
No lighting, no backdrop, just me and my little pocket-sized sony!
Got the girls to face the window, turned the flash off and clicked the shutter.
Came home, put the pic on the pc, ran a noiseware application on the image and filled the bg with clouds and an omni light.
I LOVE IT!

I never posed the girls. They did that themselves and they look so natural. Like you say OT, it probably comes from years of being in front of the camera.
I thought I had better show you the original.

Here's the link to the noiseware programme I used. I was amazed how well it worked!

Scroll down to the bottom and download the community edition 2.5 it's free and that's the one I used.
Also, you run it from your desktop, so, for those who don't have adobe it's great.
You just open your noiseware by clicking it twice on your desktop and then open your image in the programme.

Great, now that you explained a little bit on how to make that background, I've been at the computer for the past hour or so taking portraits I have and I've been making backgrounds for them

Great image though! They do seem very comfortable in front of the camera. Keep it up!

Not sure how you have done it but here's how I did it...

1. Duplicate layer > Filter > Render > Clouds (in two shades of brown)
2. Filter > Render > Lighting effects > Soft omni light
3. In your layers palette, right click the layer and choose "Blending options" turn the opacity down to 50% so you can see the people. Then click ok.
4. Now get your erase tool and erase away. (I used a soft edged brush).
5. Keep checking the edges of your subjects by turning the blending options opacity up to 100% and then back down to 50% and clicking ok. Then continue erasing.
6. Once finished you can turn your blending options opacity back up to 100%
7. Layers > Flatten image > save as
