    Talking I got published today!!!

The local news chanel has a story about the Great Grey Owls in our area, so I submitted the two owl pictures that I posted in critique this week. Both of them are in the slide show that goes with the story. Check them out yourself at:

Pictures 11&12 are mine!!! No money involved, but the thrill of seeing my work online it great. I also just got an offer to take senior portraits for a friends daughter. Never done that before, but I'm going to give it a shot. I'm going to buy a lottery ticket after work now.

Congratulations. That's awesome. I wonder if they can tell you how many people saw your photo in a few days?

Look like they added some more pictures to the slide show since I posted this. Thanks for pointing that out.

And a big thanks to everyone for all the great feedback, and the encouragement.

    Talking Congratulations!

Nice Photos! Beautiful owl! Thanks for sharing with us.

BTW......you might want to edit your original post to read 11 & 12 so people aren't checking out the wrong ones.

    Congratulations again.........and enjoy the publicity.

    Re: I got published today!!!

I missed the images over on critique , so good thing you got published ;)

Your GGOW images are quite nice and GREAT job on getting them published! But I must say that the article they are on was written by someone who obviously doesn't know anything about them and doesn't quote notes correctly ;) Is this the Stoughton GGOW I read about by any chance?

    Hey Paul,

I was going to put the word owl in the title when I originaly posted it so you would be sure to see it, but I opted for something else. This is not the Stoughton GGOW that you read about. This bird was about an hour north, northwest of Stoughton. Just to the west of Sauk City on hwy 60 if you have a WI map. I may be making another trip there this weekend to see if I can get some more shots.

If that was a Stoughton owl it would probably have been wearing a Syttende Mai button and standing in line at a lutefisk dinner at the Lutheran church. (there's a joke that won't travel well)

    This just in...

"News on the Stoughton owl is that it was apparently hit by a car over
the weekend. It was captured by rehabbers and tucked away for recovery
in Madison. Reports have indicated it was doing pretty well. Had an eye
injury and something wrong with it's wing and also hadn't been eating."

The above is part on an email I just got from the woman who told me where to find the GGOW that I shot.

Thanks for the link Paul. I haven't seen this site yet, but that is where the person who sent me the info got it from.
