I actually used my 1D Mk II this last weekend

Thought I'd get a photo workout before I completely forget how to take pictures. Fortunately my kids are always willing subjects.

Bout time you put that camera to work!

The color looks great.... wish I could get the neighbors kids to stand still, they run and hide when they see the camera

That's the problem with BIG BAD-BUTT HONKING cameras with BIG BAD-WHITE "L" lenses -they can spot you a mile away in a heavy fog.

Good to see you posting Leon. I always enjoy you take on things. Glad your giving that new camera a little exercise. You don't want it to get all soft from no use.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I love my 1D ii, but the weight was taking it's toll. For the last 3+ years since my EOS-1V HS got stolen with all my "L" lenses and accessories, I've kept my all my gear with me at all times. I pack it in a large Tamrac bag and I take to work every morning, and I take it home with me at night, despite the fact that my gear is probably more secure at work after hours than at my house. 40 pounds of lenses, camera bodies, and spare batteries on the same shoulder every day has resulted in a very badly pinched nerve in my shoulder, leading to partial numbness in my left hand. Fortunately I'm right handed, and 4 weeks in physical therapy has healed me but I stayed away from the 1D for quite a while and am now beginning to use it again, this time only packing it for those times when I actually want to take pictures. And I only pack a couple of lenses each time-used to always bring everything all the other times, the camera and gear stay in the office studio where we use it the most.

Thanks Jared. One of the things I just love about the EOS-1 series cameras, both film and digital, is the pure raw speed of the beasts. There haven't been many lost moments when my eye is looking through the viewfinder with this camera, it just so spot on compared to any camera I've ever had (and I've had, and still have, a few).

    Leon,
These are really nice! Like others have said, it's good to see you posting - that's an awesome camera, btw. Great pictures too......sharp - and really nice color. I hope you'll start using your gear (other than for work) more often now that Spring is (almost) here.

    Liz
