Well the paper did it to me again, this time though it was a high school band competition. No presure, it was only the state finals! Great, send me to shoot this when I have never shot any band stuff like this. It was also a day I had to shoot morning and evening volleyball games so it was a long day.
#1: Warming up in the convention center - I liked the effect of the drum sticks on this one
#2: A freshman band member is overwhelmed by the RCA Dome as the band gets ready to head out of the tunnel. This school which was the one I was too shoot finished 3rd in their class, not a bad day!
#3: This wasn't the school I was there to shoot but it was "my" school as I went to this school my freshman year of high school. The fact the band made it to the state finals at all was amazing because just a couple days before this the town of Nappanee where these kids are from was hit by a tornado. Fortunately none of the kids or anyone from the town were killed. There wree 5 injured but all the ban members came through unijured. They did however lose some instruments but other schools loaned instruments to those who needed them  So it was pretty neat seeing them there. They finished 5th in their class. Way to go NorthWood!
