    How do you feel?

No, grumpy ole Chunk is not suddenly becoming Mr. Sensative.

I like texture shots that you can almost feel. Got any to share?

    Re: How do you feel?

I like the textures Chunk. Kinda reminds me of learning to draw textures and shadows in art class. ;) I wish I had a photo to share, but I don't.

...and who says your grumpy? You can't fool me! There's a sensitive side to you. You just don't want anyone to know there is.

    Re: How do you feel?

These aren't great texture shots, but I just needed to post something. I have gotten so down over not participating in any discussions the last week or two. So please take them for what they are, a need to be back in the group. Thanks Chunk for giving me a thread to post in.

I think I can actually participate in this one. I have also been in a slump because of the weather. I got extension tubes for my camera for christmas, but its been too cold and a lot of snow (3+ feet) Got desperate looking for something to take a picture of and I thought this came out pretty cool. Need to practice before spring.

You have me stumped!!! I do not know what type of aircraft this is. Troy might be able to answer this one, but it's beyond me.

That second shot shows a gorgeous polishing job! That is incredible. Is this a display, or a flying aircraft?

I already told you what it was, but we'll see if Troy or anyone else figures it out. It flew in, with three others of the same type. Seeing four of them together in the air is something that may never happen again.

When you saw 4 of them flying, I assume there were 12 engines amongst them, right?

Right. And that is an engine cowling.

    Re: How do you feel?

Some really nice shots being posted. Thanks to you all.
Toot I love the colors in this. The whole shot is a nice abstract but the colors really set it off IMHO. Would you mind explaining what the subject is?
Firemedic, the rough and sticky textures are great - wouldn't want to tuch that one.
Anotherview, your shots are excellent as always. I really like the texture on that engine cowling or whatever it is.
Jar_e, Thanks for posting. Those magical bubbles are exquisite.

    Chunk

Desperation in trying to find anything colorful was hard to find, it has been so drab around here. It is the eye of a peacock feather. I am looking forward to better weather so I can practice outside with better subjects.

And they obviously work quite well!!!

Hard to believe that is a feather!

What camera/lens did you use, and how much extension?

Re: I got extension tubes for my camera for christmas

Hey Speed...I used my D100 w/50mm lens. I forgot the setting I had the camera on. I used 3 of the extension tubes - 13mm, 21mm and 31mm. It was suggested to me not to use all of them at the same time, because it limits the focus area. Just another toy to learn how to use. I tried taking a picture of one of my cats eye...LOL. He didn't care for that at all! He wasn't a co-operative victim.

Thanks for playing. Terrific patina as well as texture. (Heck of a grade on that section of the line. )
