    Holga Flare - Finally!

Okay, so I don't use my Holga that often, but I've had it for a few years now and I've never been able to get the kind of wicked flare some people seem to get with every shot. This is the first time I've had any success and it came out much better than I expected. Don't ask me to explain why I wanted flare.

Yup, that's the Holga look. I've been playing with a Lomo fisheye, will have to give the Holga some serious thought. Good shot!

Paul, don't worry. There are plenty of us here that get it!

Oops. I forgot I posted this. Thanks to everyone for commenting.

Wow Megan, "brilliant?" I sure like the sound of that.

Charles, let's see some photos from that fisheye camera. Maybe we should start a "WNW: Toy Camera" thread?

    Brian, you're absolutely right.

Steve, thank you. Glad to know I'm in good company.

Larry, do you have a Holga? If not, don't you think it's about time?

    Paul,

While my photographic experience is pretty much nil, I really love this picture. The style is really neat. Something I'd definitly be interested in getting into one day! *nod nod*

    Paul,

I did some googling after I posted my comment and found that these Holga's aren't that expensive? Seems like it could be a great extension to expierement in photography without costing you an arm and a leg!

Yep, that's the beauty of it. You should try one. The cameras are almost entirely plastic and have practically no control over the exposure. You basically just point and shoot.

Holgas *shouldn't* be expensive... I was in the ICP gift store the other day and they were charging $40 for one. That's a bit much. They should be around $25, unless you get a custom Holgamod from Randy - http://www.holgamods.com, or a special edition from the Lomo website.

    Re: Holga $24.99

You gotta' love a camera that costs less, with warranty, than what you'll spend to get the first roll of film developed and printed. And that doesn't inlcude the gaffers tape to keep it all together.

    Happy shooting!

    No Explanation Necessary

No need to explain why you wanted flare. If you didn't want flare, you wouldn't have bought a Holga now, would you?

But the real question is, how many pieces of flare...?
