    Hello from Northern California!

I'm brand new to this terrific forum and wanted to wave the big hand from Northern California!

Having just expanded our family, my wife and I have recently had identical twin boys and have found ourselves taking more and more photos every single say. I thought it would be a great idea to join a forum and see what tips and tricks I could learn.

We are currently using a Sony Cyber-shot 6.0 mega pixel camera, which as simple as it is seems to take some pretty decent photos. I am also using Microsoft Digital Image Pro 7.0 as my editor program. As a rookie, I am impressed with this combination, however both will be upgraded in the coming months. The camera should still be of the compact point & click with auto focus variety since my wife doesn't want to fiddle with large lenses etc.

What type of camera and software do you use?

    Thanks in advance!

    Calif.Bob

    Welcome!

The camera I most often shoot with is a Panasonic DMC-FZ7K.

As for image-editing software, here are the ones I regularly use:

#1. Corel Paint Shop Pro 9.
    #2. Gimp Image Editor.
    #3. Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition.
    #4. Arcsoft PhotoStudio 2000.

I also have a few specialty programs, such as photo-library, panorama stitching, etc.
