    Hello and Happy New Year

Although a stranger to many of you, I want to wish all those who might remember me and to those don't, a happy and prosperous New Year. Life continues on for me, still with physical woes but with a renewed vigor for street photography, shooting more now than I have in the past few years. Though I've embraced the digital world (D200), my main passion remains with film, my Leica M6 and trusty Contax G2.
I've followed a number of threads as a lurker, have enjoyed the tremendous improvement in the skills of so many here, and have felt like a part of the community even as an outsider.
I hope to pop back on here again, so if I'm welcome, coming back to the fold would be really great.
Still no professional site, but old and new stuff of mine is on www.pbase.com/charles_hess if you'd care to look. Take care.

Charles! It's great to hear from you my friend. Happy New Year to you!

It's always a pleasure to see your work, both street and glamour. I'm sorry to hear about your plaguing health problems, but I'm encouraged by the sound of your newfound passion. All the best my friend, and I hope to see you around again soon.

Hey Charles nice to hear from you again. You were an inspiration to me in my early lurking days here a PR. I still try to check in at your Pbase site every once in a while to see what's going on. Liz was forced into a move and has not been on PR the last month or so very frequently but is still active with the community. Her street photos are improving with each of her post. Hope she sees this thread and check in with you. Welcome back.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Hi Adina...your photos have been really amazing in the past months (I'm a good lurker). Are you serious about coming to Philly? Make sure you email so you can be treated royally! Speaking of royalty, the museum gets to host Prince Charles in a few weeks, so work is still going well. Keep in touch. :-)

Welcome back Charles!! It's great to see you posting again. The wife and I took the Pentax P&S you gave me a couple years ago to Jamaica over the new year and ran a couple rolls of film through it. I think of you everytime I use it. I can't wait to check out the work you have posted on pbase. Happy New Year and all the best in 2007!

It would look like Philly got invaded - by photographers!

So, do you need an aprentice? Looking for an intern? Need help holding the reflectors?

    Hey thanks!

Yes, seriously coming to Philly. As long as you can squeeze me in! It will probably be early December...

How cool you're hosting Prince Charles! Am I correct in remember that you're the go to guy there? So you get to meet him? That's really neat!

Loren...good to see that you are still a part of the site. Your work looks fantastic. Adina, I would be honored to have you and family be my guests at the center. Yeah, I'm one of the 'big wheels' at work, though I always feel like a blue collar guy being forced to wear a white one. I'll get to meet the Prince, but it's actually not so much a big deal anymore with the steady parade of politicos and celebs that come through the doors. Early October, we had Bush, Clinton, and Bon Jovi here at one time for an award ceremony, Barbra Streisand strolled in with hubby James Brolin awhile back, our Governor is here a few times a week, Sen. John McCain was here a few weeks ago, and you name 'em, they've been here. :-) Keep me posted as the time draws nearer.

    Hi Charles,

It's good to see that your issues aren't stopping your photography. I always enjoy seeing your portraits. They are an inspiration to me, as I feel lacking in my portrait taking skills. I hope to see more posts from you soon!

May your New Year be a great one!
