Hey All ...
Just joined this site today and wanted to say "hello" to y'all.
A little about me:
I first got interested in photography at a very early age when I got a Brownie Hawkeye for my birthday. Within a couple of years I had every whistle and bell attachment that could be had for a Hawkeye.
In Jr High, I got a Speed Graphic and started shooting large format. Since I was a member of the photo club, film and processing was no problem.
After HS, I had a bunch of "instamatic" cameras. In the early 60's I purchased my ideal camera ... a Mamiya-Secor DTL 1000, I matched it with several lenses and it was a wonderful system. Regretably I lost it to a pawn shop in the late 70's.
My next adventure was with a Nikon FG. (Motor drive, Speedlight, 4 lenses from 55mm to 400mm) I still have tyhat camera gathering dust in the safe. I just couldn't get it to work right with me. Don't get me wrong ... the FG is a sweet camera ... but not comperable to the DTL 1000 (my opinion).
A couple of years ago, I decided to go digital SLR. I got a Fuji S9000. Sweet little camera ... except when using the flash (but that's another posting).
I notice that the Fuji must be a "redheaded stepchild" (no offense intended). There are forums for Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus ... but no Fuji.
Anyone here shoot a Fuji? On another forum, a member and I shared our S9000 problems and solutions. He just traded for a Canon.
Well ... hope I am in the right place this time.
Thanks for reading the rather long post ... hope you are not too bored.
Later
Dave
