    Hello

Hi I'm new to these forums and just thought I'd say hello. I'm currently trying to decide which DSLR to get on a budget of around 1100.00.
Not a very easy task for me but I'll sort it out eventually. Big decisions Canon or Nikon pretty much seem like my options. I'd like to seriously enter the world of photography.I plan to take classes and immerse myself
and would love to make a career. It merges so many things that I enjoy creativity, technology, art. I guess I can't go wrong. I'm kind of stuck between the 30D and the D80. I'll have to start out with a 50mm prime cheapo in either case until I can get a better lens. I wish Canon had something between the 400D and the 30D like the D80. I'm rambling now so I'll get back to reading endless reviews.

Welcome to the site, Vektor! You might want to post a question on the Digital SLR forum. I think you'll be more likely to get a detailed answer there.

And if you want my opinion, I would take a closer look at the XTi/400D. I have been using one since it came out and would much rather have it than the 30D. Most of the upgraded features on the 30D won't be of much use to the average photographer. And the photographers that will benefit are mostly action photographers - of which I am one. I have a 1D and a 400D, and the 400D is almost all I use.

Hi, (almost) neighbor! Welcome to the site. I'm sure you'd be happy with either brand.
