Going bonkers...waiting on UPS....

Dang, I feel like a little kid waiting for that special new toy at Christmas! I was to recieve my new gear today, and was to shoot a college JV football game, both got put on hold.... Adorama delayed shipping my new gear... some lame excuse, so they are sending it next day. They claim I will have it by 10:30am tomorrow, yet I still do not have a tracking number.... Do I beleive them...not at this point, maybe when I get a tracking number, but not really until I actually the box(es) at my door.

Then, as I headed out to shoot the college game I made the mistake of answering the cell phone. The ring told me it was the sports editor, and before I answered it I knew that he was going to send me to cover the staff photographer because he had some lame excuse to get out of the job... always does
Sure enough, that was what he called about... am I good or what? So, now I'm off to shoot the girls high school soccer game instead of going to college football... it's jv but it's better than suffering through another in county slaughter.....Ok, well, maybe it won't be a slaughter this time....(hopefully)....

I can't help but think of Joe Dirt when someone uses the word "dang."

I know the feeling, though. I'm always like that when I order something. I just ordered a bunch of film and a filter case because I'm about to go backpacking in Utah. I've read on this website about Adorama taking a few days to ship orders, so I ordered from B&H. My luck, they decided to shut down for a few days last week and it delayed all their shipments. Now, I've got my fingers crossed hoping it will arive before I leave on Thursday. I think it will be here tomorrow, but if it's late, I'll have a bunch of film to use when I get back.

I ordered from B&H. My luck, they decided to shut down for a few days last week and it delayed all their shipments...

Like most of the NYC photo supply companies, they're Jewish, and were closed for Rosh Hashanah...

A link to their holiday schedule is included on their home page, and is probably worth paying attention to between now and the end of the year. As it is, they are closed more days in October than they're open.

Oy vay!

BTW, my UPS guy dropped off a few little photo trinkets for me today. Like usual, all the good stuff is on back order...

photophorous: Well it was dang or well, can't say those here my vocabulary has been full of choice words lately for certain events, like getting my 1D back from Canon with a dirty mirror, furnace croaking, Adorama refusing (until moments ago) to give me a tracking number.... good thing the doc isn't checking my BP right now! 220/220

Asylum Steve: it seems that the Jews take a lot of time off....every dang time I order something they are on "holiday". According to the recent schedule, do not buy in October, November, December......
A Jewish friend of mine never takes that much time off work.... he just doesn't eat

We can all relate to that feeling! When that package arrives, you won't remember how long it took to get there! It's exciting - hopefully it will arrive shortly.

I'm glad I got my 24-105 from B&H - they said they got in a very big shipment of them Thursday - now they are out of stock.
