    Giclee on canvas

    Greetings!

I met with my Uncle tonight (whom I see about every 2-4 years), and he is an artist too. Although his speciality is oil painting - He is doing well selling his large abstract prints. ANYWAY, he has been admiring my landscape photos, and he suggested that I try to create some limited editions with giclee printing on canvas. I've been thinking about this before, but now I am even more interested.

Does anyone here have any suggestions for a good giclee/canvas lab?

My uncle said the 'average' price in his area was about $10.00 per foot.

Any feedback on this method would be great! Thanks in advance!

Wow, that sounds like quite a project. Though I can't offer any suggestions, I would love to see a final product and how everything turned out!

Kathy I just got some info on custom printing from Jonathan Penney Inc. (I am looking for options for custom wedding prints) the small samples they sent look nice. I don't have any pricing info yet, you have to purchase a sample kit for $50 to get all the pricing info but then you get a $50 credit toward purchase. After I get orders from a large family photo shoot I think I will order it.

I hear it is a good printing method.
    It is rather archival.
There is a lab in my area, Salt Lake City that does it.
    I recommend them highly.

Jonathan Penny is amazing. I haven't tried any landscape stuff, but the portraits that I've had done have been beautiful.

    Re: Giclee on canvas

    Thanks so much ya'll!

I have contacted all three labs, I may do a bit of experimenting, and compare all of the labs work.

I really do appreciate the help. I am very interested in Giclee on Canvas for my landscapes, and the more that I read up on it, the more I like.
