    The Forum

I really appreciate internet forums for views and feedback, and this one is one of the better I have ever participated in.

I have always wanted to produce artwork. Since I was a pretty young kid. But not being a prodigy I pursued engineering instead. I still kept struggling to make art. Drawing, photography, eventually 3d art and photomanipulation. But I can never tell what to focus on and the passion never sustains me long.

Here is a drawing I did a while ago of Oscar Wilde:

But a few years ago I started doing HDR and tone mapping and it just speaks to me. I think I came into this forum during which my interests and possibly my skills in photography are improving, and I have felt very alive for the last few weeks.

I appreciate the role you guys have played in that. I get the sneaking feeling that someday this might be something I do frequently and well. You know, like sarcasm...

    Great Drawing!

That's a great drawing! I like the style and think it adds to the art. I'm glad you are enjoying the forums here, too. I'm biased, of course. But I like to think they're special

I, too, find this forum to be a special place. The etiquette is guided by the gentle hands of the old timers who can make someone feel really bad in the kindest of ways. It really beats those forums run by the 'dictatorial moderators' or the 'loudest and longest wins' styles. - TF

Yeah the balance between absolutely necessary criticism and encouragement is good.
