Looks like he's got a Pocketwizard on his camera. He probably has strobes up in the rafters that he's triggering when he takes his pictures.

Was that a preseason NHL game, or a lower division game?

I can't wait for hockey season!!!!!

Hey thanks for the info - would he really need the strobes, though? I mean it's so bright when the action is going on already. That was a preseason NHL game - our Vancouver Canucks ... lotta people don't really know how the Canucks will do this year but I'm still looking forward to the season as well. Already did a hockey pool draft on Friday, going to do another one tonight.

Oh, its Vancouver, THAT NHL team

I'm a NY Rangers fan, but since I live in San Jose I'm a Sharks fan also.

I know at the arena where the Sharks play they've got a bunch of strobes up in the rafters. The strobes will help freeze the action of the players during the game.

I know we sucked last season but we weren't that forgettable were we? LOL

I like the looks the Sharks though, that is one solid team .... dunno about the Rangers though, historically in the recent past they just seemed to be a bunch of overpriced prima donnas all on separate pages .... the Canucks are a question mark this year for sure.

Anyway, thanks, I'll try to look for strobes if I get out to a game this year.

There's a glass partitition between the fans and the player bench where the photographer was LOL .... so noisy in there, don't think I could even get his attention unless I slam on the glass - speaking of which, some guy fan kept calling out the players but none of them turned around (even at the end of periods), it looked like he just wanted to get a shot of them.
