Great shots Barb......I really like that 2nd one. Very nice - IMO a hanger!
BTW, as I recall you were looking for a camera for quite a while. I haven't been around as much - so what camera was your final choice? Whatever camera, it seems to work for you from these shots. Of course, it's always the photographer!
Thanks for sharing your pics. Our forecast - a very small amount of either rain or snow for tomorrow morning. I hope it's a light snow - who wants cold rain?
Hi Liz, I purchased a Panasonic FZ7 on boxing day last year. I still have alot to learn about it. Must find the time to play with it.
Thanks everyone, weather forecast for as long as they can predict rain, rain and more rain.

I did some Panasonic research - they're great cameras. Good choice. Enjoy....
I looked at that 2nd picture again - and couldn't help but hope it's coming here too - sort of wishing I were there now. There is something about the silence of snow that is healing and refreshing.
Nice images barb, I also like the second one - it has a certain sense of mystery to it. We've had two rounds of snow so far in Oct/Nov time frame both of which melted in the next couple of days. The good thing is that they are starting to ski in Banff and Lake Louise in the next few days. One Banff operator has already opened - one lift and one run going strong.
Lucky you, the scenery must be spectacular. Looking forward to some of your shots WesternGuy, mountains and snow what a combo.
MJS I would rather look at Miami shots and imagine the warmth of the sun and the sand between my toes.
Nice shots, but like others have hinted, you can have the snow. We've seen flurries a couple times recently, and that's enough for me. BTW, you're using my camera. I like my FZ7. If you like wildlife photography, be sure to get the Olympus 1.7 conversion lens. I've had mine now for a few months, and love it, especially for birds. It will give an effective 20.4 X zoom or 734mm. It really pulls them long distance items in. There are cheaper ones on the market, but they are junk. This one works great. Of course, you'll also need the Panasonic lens adapter. Also, Olympus makes 2 sizes and the higher price of the 2 is the one for our camera. I believe the lens runs around $90 and the adapter a little over $20.
Once again, nice images.

Sounds good to me, just wondering shutterbug whether or not the pics will look grainy? I do notice with just zooming out that the pics don't look that great.
Thanks
Barb, I've never had a problem with grain, up to ISO 200. If there is any that is noticeable, I just use the despeckle filter in Photoshop Elements, to smooth it out. Here are a couple examples of photos I took a couple weeks ago with the lens. They were both shot at ISO 200. You be the judge.

Very pretty! It's a little wet I see, not the "ideal" snow yet but it will be there. I esp like the type of shots you have at the bottom here, where the trees and leaves all are sort of the same and it seems to go to infinity..............

Thanks, Barb, Just read the manual and reread it. Take the manual with you wherever you go, until it's practically memorized. You can set the ISO to 200 and continue shooting in program mode, until you feel like getting brave and experimenting with different settings. I posted these photos just to show you the lack of grain with the conversion lens, when shot at ISO 200. Good luck and have fun.
