First shots w/ new Canon 17-40L

    Hey yall!

Well, I'm in love! This new lens is really good. Its definately worth the $$. I can't wait for the wildflowers to bloom now!

This is my first L lens, and I can't believe that its taken me sooo long to get an 'L'.

The lens arrived this afternnon, and I took my kids out to my friend's peach orchard which happens to be in full bloom. We had a great time.

No tripod today. All shots were handheld. The wind was blowing just enough to bug me. Everytime I wanted a closeup shot, the wind would pick up. Hopefully, I'll be able to go back tomorrow.

Canon 10D - Darn battery!! It sure does drain fast!

Looking to get this lens too.

Very nice set, Kathy. Looks like you'll be using this lots. Look forward to seeing more shots.

These are beautiful shots, Kathy. Nicely done! I especially like the last one. Great compositon. Could be a tad sharper on my screen but is lovely just as is.

Good work with the new lens!

Cool Excellent results from a great lens.....

    Hey Cowgirl!

These are really nice images. The colors are right on, including skin tones. I have one "L" lens which is the 200mmf2.8 and it is one awesome lens. I even love just looking through the lens.......I agree the "L" lenses are the way to go - too bad we can't get all "L" lenses! When I got my Rebel, I recycled my lenses - sold 4 and bought 3 new ones, but better glass. My equipment has changed totally this past year. But awesome stuff!

I was eyeing that lens, but could not even "think" about buying another thing - just got another (had one before & sold it) G3 to carry around with me.

I'm glad to see the excellent quality of this lens. I wondered about it, but have seen very little images shot with it. Please keep posting.

    Way to go, Kathy!
