    Firepower

If you fought in any of the US Armed Forces Branches during the Second World War or Korea (first off my thanks and gratitude to you), there's a chance your bullets were made here.

She's over 10,000 Acres worth of abandoned buildings, and one of the largest, if not the largest abandoned spots in North America.

The Indiana Army Ammunition Plant, or INAAP (in-app, or i-naap) for short. Construction started in the late 1930s, and the plant was fully operation in 1941, and was the depression buster for the whole area, employing nearly 30,000 workers at it's peek. It continued to operate through the Korean War and was shut down, only briefly to be reactivated during Vietnam. However this place is slowly being taken down, the two massive power stations are already rubble and several buildings visited are already marked.

You will need: good boots/shoes, GPS, water, long pants, and snacks. And don't expect to see it all, we spent five hours here, and saw less than a quarter of the whole place.

    Run through the jungle.

These shots are wonderful and the history behind them is interesting. 2 and 13 are my favorite.

Wow, pretty neat. I have a good family friend (now in assisted living) who fought in Korea.

I especially like those interior shots with all the pipes and machinery. Good stuff!

I hear the Korean war mentioned every once in a while, could anyone remind me "again" why did the US fight in Korea?.

To stop the spread of communism! It was one of those little wars that the US and Russia fought against each other, but not really.

Actually, it was UN, not US. - Terry
