    It finally happened....

My bride passed out during todays wedding. It happened after they were announced 'Man & Wife' and they were walking down the aisle. Luckily he had a good hold on her arm and she fell 'gently'.

I felt so sorry for her, and she was so embarresed and angry with herslf. She didn't eat anything all morning. She was down for about 30 minutes. Some of her friends (who had toddlers) had a drink and crackers - which helped her so much.

We had a few more formals afterwards, after the ceremony, and she really perked up and came through like a star.

The attached photo was taken after the ordeal.

Lesson learned - I will pack snacks in my camera bag!

I was at one wedding (as the sound system operator) and the best man fainted, not once, not twice but yes, three times.

The photo has them with interesting expressions on. The bride especally, she looks very worried, I guess I'd be to after collapsing.

Wow, I can't imagine the stress involved in a wedding day. Not to mention the weeks and months leading up to it. At least she pulled through and was able to smile for your pics!

    Nice shot!

Oh gosh...that poor girl! She looks beautiful in that shot, especially for after a fainting episode!

Fine photo for a post "crash" episode ;). One more of the trials of being a wedding photog.

I carry the peanutbutter chews that come in black and orange wax paper for Halloween for ME! Nothing like some peanut butter for a quick energy boost! With Mom's around there are always some sort of snacks and even electrolyte replacement (like Pedialyte) if someone get dehydrated! Summer weddings can really cause people to drop like flies (pardon the expression) when the temp soars.

The bride, wow. I've had a few grooms and MotB go down but don't remember a bride in a public area faint. Lost a couple of ministers even.

    Have a good "Season".

Quick lesson for Photogs...besides carrying a snack, preferably with sugar in it, tell the wedding party....DON'T LOCK YOUR KNEES!!!! hehehe... When I was in the Navy, we had lots of guys faint during inspections and long formations. Some learned, and some didn't..hehe..

Make it a point to let the bride know that she needs to keep her legs relaxed. Locking the knees as some will do in situations like that will cause a drop in blood pressure that makes people pass out. I saw that happen many times while I was in the Marines in longer parades or ceremonies.
