    A few from last week

I had a pretty good week last week. Found out that my 70-200 lens will get fixed at no charge (I don't have a clue why), got a new 3ft x 4ft softbox, and I've fallen in love with my manual focus 50mm 1.8, and 35-135mm. Since my 70-200 is in the shop, I've got an engagement shoot this weekend I wanted a longer lens than my 28-70. So I pulled out my grandfathers 35-135 he gave me, and I've been using it for the past 2 weeks.

So I went out with a friend to shoot some photos for his project, and I shot a few to test out my toys:

    Nice shots.

I have a question about the lighting on your BIL's portrait. The highlights in his eyes appear to be coming from his right, photographer's left. The shadow on the side of his nose appear to make the main lighting coming from his left, photographer's right. Am I missing something? Going crazy? Just confused (a very likely possibility!).

I was using a large softbox in a butterfly light setup. Light was to my right, and above my head. I think I also had the light so it was 4ft wide, and 3ft tall, so it was also wider than his face
