"Fats Domino" - anyone remember him?

    I do - very fondly.

He and his family are among the missing in New Orleans. I read an article on my Verizon Home Page about him. He is 77 and he and his family decided to ride out the storm at home. His agent and good friend for the past 28 years is still trying to find him, and hoping they found refuge.

I can't find the original article which was only about Fats and his family. However, here is another article that mentions him among others that I'm not familiar with.

God bless him and his family - and all those people who are suffering so much.

I remember him Liz, old enough too. Being a Jazz fan and all, and also play the trumpet myself, so hence the connection.

I too hope he is safe, but by the look at the devestation, how many people survived is a miracle in itself.

Yes let's keep all of them in our thoughts and prayers.

When I was a teenager - and into my twenties, he was a favorite of mine. I wonder if he still entertains. Probably not, because I haven't heard his name for years, until tonight, unfortunately.

It's always good to see you around, Peter.

Peter, I'm sure you were just mentioning Jazz and the trumpet to emphasize your connection to Fats, but just wanted to remind everyone that the man became a legend as a Rhythm & Blues performer playing the piano...

His biggest hits were, Ain't That A Shame, Blueberry Hill, I'm Walking, and Blue Monday...
