Family Portrait Session

I had the chance to have a fun family session the day after Thanksgiving. I woke up in the AM hearing rain, but we had just enough break in the weather to do our planned shoot at a park, then we went back to the house for some indoor portraits. C&C welcome, and more on the Blog. Most of the outdoor images were shot with just a reflector or natural light.

6. Wish I had the chance to use the reflector to pop a little light into her eyes, but of course, she didn't give me a chance!

8. And the main reason for the shoot, their two month old

9. At the house we had some fun playing around, and I got to snap this. It'll have a little extra work done cleaning up the carpet.

11. Last but not least, my assistant in the background who was holding my flash decided to have a little fun. We're all laughing at our "stalker" photo.

- Splats, yeap, they've got a nice narrow gauge train running there during summer & some weekends. I've got some pics of us on the train somewhere.

Excellent photos! What camera/lens combo did you use for the first pic?

1st one was with the Nikon D300 + Nikon 35mm F1.8 (review coming in Jan!!) at 1/200 @f2.8. I shot everything with either that combo or I switched to my 70-200 VR for others, such as 5-7.

Its actually not my family though, but it does seem like it. I've known the mom/wife since we were in high school.
