    Everything.

No, really this is a thread about everything so if you have dial-up, please hit Back cuz I've got about 30 images I want to upload tonight. It's my first chance to really upload pictures in about a month. So lookout!

Consider this a "Waltblast" of yesteryear.

These were all taken with my Nikon Coolpix 885 like I say over the course of over a month. It's predominitely of stuff I've shot of the family I'm working for in Richmond but there's also fall foliage, waterfalls, and... oh I don't know ALL KINDS OF STUFF!!

So happy viewing. It's already quarter to 2 in the morning so I may only get a few uploaded before I poop out.

I also wanted to say: I hope nobody gets offended by my "Pagan" quote. It's not like I make soup out of cats or anything I just believe in a god different than the Christian one so by many standards that makes me a Pagan I just thought I'd have some fun with it.

I'm feeling very proud to be partaking in the democratic process. It's the first election I'm voting in. I missed the first one I was able to vote in due to apathy and the second due to not getting an absentee ballot in time. So I voted in the Virginia primary this year and am very excited to vote tomorrow! Yeah choice!!

Okay, on to the pictures. Thanks for looking (and listening)

This post: Apple picking in the mountains near Charlottesville, VA. The third one is of what we think was a forest fire, the fourth is of me helping Morgan pick apples

    Kings Dominion

There's a theme park near Richmond called "King's Dominion" we vistited. Most of my good shots were of Morgan (as usual!) But the first one should be familiar to a few people

    Everything two

Here's a hodgepodge of images: my blessing today, a dragonfly landed on my arm and didn't seem to want to leave They're a powerful symbol in Native American myth; an old pier in Pocahontas State Park; their kitten on Reala; and again sleeping to the sound of a Fender

    Fall colors.

I've also been spending a lot of time in Shenandoah National Park recently watching the leaves turn from pretty to gorgeous Here's a bunch of the leaves (from all over VA, actually the first one's from the Dairy Queen parking lot in Richmond. ;) )

    Morgan.

Cuz she's so cute - and not very camera shy!

The moms and dads out there may realize she's lost her front teeth between the first shots I posted here and these - she was very proud

    Caving.

Luray caverns, VA. The green in the water of the first shot was due to the copper from all the pennies tossed in (they encourage this and claim to make $10,000 a year from donations to the "wishing well!" Second is an example of "cave bacon" and the third and fourth are stalactites hanging above and reflecting in a pool of water - absolutely breath taking (the last one in Black and white reminds me of the Death Star)

    Waterfalls.

I went back to Shenandoah last wekeend and though it was cloudy it provided a grand opportunity for shooting the park's waterfalls - or "rapids" as these seemed more like to me. Couple that with fall leaves and some fog and I had a pretty good photo-op. These shots aren't very sharp because I was shooting mainly with my FM2n on a tripod here so the digi didn't get much physical support.

    One more post, I swear.

That is so cool with the dragonfly on your arm! Nice colors too. I'm used to green and blue dragonfly's, so the red is definitely different.

I also like the pilings in black and white. Very nice.

All of these are nice shots. I really like the sun beam you caught in the first one, and I like the landscape shot with the rocks in the foreground (the fourth one). Dude, it has been too long since you posted! Don't go this long again!

    Re: Everything.

    Rick,

I love every one of your woodland shots. This is the first year that I've actually got to shoot some interesting fall colors, so I appreciate the shots you posted. Very beautiful, and great job of capturing them on camera.

Well, that's the second photographic thing we have in common! (taking pictures and posting them of beautiful men being the other thing ;) ) LOL

Thanks Speed for all the comments! They really mean alot. Your compliments are always generous. You're filling in the shoes of Charles Hess a little there, my friend

    Thanks Shrack!

I'm honored to hear that my pictures could bring you some joy. I've lived in Virginia for most of my life so the changing colors were always taken for granted. It wasn't until I moved to California for 3 years that I really began to miss the seasons and colors! I look forward to shooting them every year now that I'm back!

Hope your shots turned out well and thanks again for the compliment!

I like the third one in this series. The lone evergreen against the background hills. Great shot! I got a couple like that up at Pilot Mountain, but the leaves hadn't changed yet, so mine didn't stand out as well as yours. Great shot!

    Re: Oh, come on!

My favorite is the one in color of Morgan sitting on the log in the forest. Classic, and the shot wouldn't work half as well if it was *just* beautiful scenery. The addition of the child is perfect!

My second favorite is the colored stalactites one. Love the reflection. It does remind me of a scene in a sci-fi movie, where the space ships would fly low in between the layers and then some landing hatch would slide open, revealing a bustling futuristic community inside.

    Thanks, Kellybean!

Nice to hear some feedback on the forest shot. I saw her there and knew I'd better start firing off shots before she got bored and did something else I liked the b+w one better so it's awesome to hear the color version has a fan. I think I'll blow one of them up for her mom.
