Yes, I got the Epson newsletter on this and it appears to be the printer I, and most of us, have been waiting for. I have heard also, that the inks may be carbon based ( like the Piezography system) which give a deeper D-Max. But Epson has made no mention of this from what I have read so far, so I am not certain of that aspect. But regardless, the D-max and color gamut is clamimed to be better and with the light light black ink( could not they have named it something a bit more simple) B&W prints should be excellent. As Penny stated, I have never had to use any maintenance tools or have had any problems with this 2200. . .and when printing with quality profiles, b&w prints look great with little metamerism (mostly noticeable under strong flourescent lighting)
But this new line of printers looks to me to be the new workhorse of the future.

btw. . .it also is supposed to have eliminated the "bronzing" effect that happens when printing on glossy papers, just as the R800 had achieved.

Good enough for me and the yearbook advisor. Ours is on the way in next year's budget.

    I got my R2400 2 this Monday.
except the ink consuming, the rest of them look perfect!

I wasted a lot of ink during first installation.

I have to know, does the new Epson eliminate that annoying green cast that can be found on the BW prints and even some color prints? Is this what people are referring to by "meterism"?
