Mirrorless still has a long way to come though. But considering the onslaught of new mirrorless bodies in the past year, the movement certainly has some increasing momentum.
For most people, compact system cameras are more than adequate. But the perception is still there that a digital SLR will get you better photos. For the most part though, that's not really true. And it's especially true if your DSLR system is too big and heavy so you always decide to leave it at home
