Talking Digital Camera Plane; XB-39 Eagle Eye

Lots of fun this last Sunday.
    More in-flight captures to come....

I was only able to get 1 in-flight capture. The camera powered off in-flight, 19 images lost /1 saved. It's fixed, I'll have a go at it again.

Now that is getting creative, LOL. I love the idea. I'd like to see you capture an image of what it must have been like to be a Kamikaze pilot. Of course you might lose both the plane and the camera in the process, hehe.

If I had the time, I could definitely see myself getting into this kind of hobby. It must be a rush to be able to make a model plane do all those amazing manuevers.

i like the rockets that have the digital camera mounted to the nose cone, and it records the whole flight...now that would be an amazing view, i think they nearly go 800 feet (maybe more!).

alright, this is what i found

    http://holden.customer.netspace.net.au/rocketcam.html

    there is also

http://www.estesrockets.com/ which has the videos listed at the top

there is only one error in this system, the nosecap pops off and the camera goes spinning to the ground and it gives me a headache...they should mount these cameras to the body

    Rick-
This is cool. Thanks for posting. Looking forward to more. You gonna buy a bigger plane so you can mount your D80 on it?

Re: Digital Camera Plane; XB-39 Eagle Eye

Gives a whole new meaning to "eye in the sky" doesn't it?

I had both the cine-rocket and the cam-rocket many years ago. They were a blast, and the camrocket I had took circular photographs . . I wonder whatever happened to those?

You have to be careful of this RC stuff, it can cut into your photography time. Before you know it, you'll be flying with one hand and taking pics with the other.

Looking forward to more Camera Plane shot! Want some details about the plane too!
