I bought a cheap nomex balaclava, not that I expect to need the protection, just that it helps preserve the helmet form sweaty driver.

The OP is Olivier Panis, bought as surplus from the Honda F1 race team.
Didn't make any difference to my driving

Though I do see a bad case of helmet hair in the reflected s.p.
And a dead fly smear on the helmet ...
