    Cool "The Gates" Last Day

I'm really glad I went to NY today to see The Gates. It was so great seeing so many happy people spending a beautiful sunny day in February having a great time. I was amazed at how spectacular the whole thing was. It wasn't that The Gates was so wonderful in itself - although it was very uplifting - it was the effect it had on the people. Everyone was happy - smiling - taking pictures. Here are a few snapshot.

The next post will include the people.

    Hey there Lara!

Thanks! Part of my excitement was getting to NYC for the afternoon - something I haven't done in too long of a time.

    Thanks Megan

Being in NY was so exciting for me Sunday. I've wanted to go - and planned to go quite a few times and had to cancel. I'm addicted to "photography in NY"

There's not much better than Photography in New York. Maybe photography in Tuscany? Alsaka? Sonoma? But none of them can compare to the PEOPLE shots you can get in NYC. I love being in NYC.

I heard a very funny reaction to the Gates. I heard from my EX that she went to the Gates & thought it was AWFUL until she saw My photos that I had posted. She said that made her realize all the color & beauty in the project. (She also asked how I developed the creative streak that she never knew I had )

But what I liked best about the Gates was that it brought together so many people, for something GOOD. We are known for coming together in Tragedy - so this was refreshing.

These images were as nice of the Gates as any I saw any where on the net. Well done Liz. Your people pictures are first rate as well, love the first one of the street musicians, great color and detail really captured the moment.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Thanks OT!

You're very kind I appreciate the nice comments. It was a great day - and I'm glad I have to photos to remember it. I took almost about 50 photos. I don't keep very many. I got some printed at Walmart. That was a mistake! Sometimes they do a great job; other times shoddy to say the least. They did them in a hurry because they were going to do some maintenance on the machines.

These are very nice - glad your ex noticed how creative you are!

My 2 favorites of yours are the one over the water.....really nice! The other one which is probably my very favorite - is the one with the old apartments in the background. I've probably seen this building, but never would have guessed they're apartments. Excellent photo. Great creative perspective!

    Very Nice

    Liz-
These are very, very nice. I actually like the one of the musicians a lot. Please post some in the gallery. That's the best place to post stuff that you'd like to be able to pull up in the future. Plus, these are really nice and should be shared more.

    Pretty

I like yours too, coach. It's fun to see two people's take on the same subject. It's also interesting to see the color difference. I wonder which one is more accurate?

Please post a couple in the gallery. That's the best place to share your best stuff. Plus, it's easier to search and find stuff there.

    Hi Penny,

I'm so glad you're around! Thanks for the kind words!

I will pray that you get a wonderful job that you absolutely love (and soon). That's a promise.

I can't wait to see you again. Rick is moving soon - and wants to have a get-together in NYC again before he goes. Maybe summer? Maybe I'll post something - or try to find Rick to post it - and we'll make it a sticky. You know, the beginning of a plan to meet in NY! ;)

Someway, somehow, we've got to get back to NYC. Please pray that I will become gainfully employed in a fun environment soon, before I become one of the street people in someone's pictures.

    Good job, keep 'em coming.

    My Best to You,
    Penny
