I'd like to say off into the sunset, but actually they were headed into the rising sun.

Joy even got into the act, but Sam didn't let her get to far from the house.

I love horses. These are some beauties. Do they belong to your son?

The family photos that you post here are like viewing a live photo album with a story. I always enjoy your photos - they're full of life - and for me personally, inspiring.

Yes these all belong to Sam and Kate his wife. The paint is Ranger, Sam is riding Lincoln and Joy is on a 20 year old mare named Baby. I love showing off the family each one is unique and has some very special talents.

Didn't really think about b&w Greg but I gave a couple a try. I'm not real good at conversions. What do you think?

I like the B&W boot photo. Maybe needs a bit more room for the toe of the boot to move into, but I like it just the same. If you cropped it give it a little more room on the right.

They were saddling three horses at the same time and only had room for two at their hitching rail. He hobbled his horse with the leather hobbles you see there to keep it in place while grooming and saddling it. The hobbles go between the two front legs and keep the horse from moving their legs in a walking motion.

Nice series OT. I like the "riding off into the sunset" shot and the last shot of your first series.

Personally I like the color shots better but then I'm not a big B&W fan.

    WOW! Awesome shots OT!
    Your family look fantastic.
I love horses too but I am very allergic to the dust in their hair. And I LOVE cowboys and cowgirls. I think that stems from my love for Calamity Jane.
Thank you so much for sharing these.

Alison you and I both have families that help make the photography experience even more rewarding. My children like yours have grown up with a camera in their face so much that they are never self conscious about it and are able to go about what the are doing and let me do my candid thing. They have been and continue to be as I grow older the great photo theme of my life. They have in the last couple of years added a whole new chapter to my life's photo album with the addition of the grandchildren.

    Re: Cowboy Up

Great series. Makes for great family fun. I had to get rid of my horses when I moved into town....and I miss them. That kind of fun makes for great family memories.
