When a vulture lands on one's hut? I would imagine so in some parts of the world.

The little male red-winged blackbird did his very best to try to protect the homeowner

...bad luck? I suppose it depends whether you're dead or alive?

The other aspect, it never ceases to amaze me how some of these smaller birds will go after anything that they must feel threatens their territory. We sometimes have a mule deer or two in our yard...boy, the magpies do not really like it.
